PROGRAM OF 5 DAYS AND 4 NIGHTS - MACAW CLAY LICK
DAY 1.
Arrival to Puerto Maldonado and the Lodge . Morning flight from Lima or Cusco to Puerto Maldonado (not included air tickets) and transfer from the airport to the river port. Departure to the Macaw lick by motorized dugout canoe, during this trip you see the changes from colonized deforested land to primary rain forest.
Upon arrival to the our first camp-site, in the afternoon a short hike for wildlife observation. Overnight at the camp-site. Lunch and Dinner.
DAY 2.
An early morning start up the Tambopata River by motorized dugout canoe to a remote campsite called "Collpa de Guacamayos" (Macaw lick). After establishing camp we explore the area. There is an optional night-excursion to look for Caiman.
DAY 3.
Before breakfast at the first light we make a short walk to the Collpa (Lick), the largest known Macaw Lick in the world where on a normal day hundreds of Macaws and other parrots come in the morning for the salty clay. This is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world. After breakfast we departure to the lodge.
DAY 4. After breakfast a full day of exploration of the surrounding rain forest. This includes a jungle walk, as well as through lush high and low forest.
DAY 5. An early pre-dawn breakfast to appreciate sunrise on the river before arriving to Puerto Maldonado where we are met for a transfer to the airport for your flight out (not included).

DAY 1.

MANU NATIONAL PARK (CULTURAL ZONE)

Departure from Cusco at 10 a.m. On our way we will visit the "chullpas" a kind of Incas warehouse. Lunch in Paucartambo, a picturesque little Andean town. Continuing our trip in the zone of the CLOUD FOREST, if we're lucky we can see the famous COCK OF THE ROCK. Arrive to Pilcopata approximately at 6.30 p.m. Welcome and dinner.
DAY 2:
Horse riding in the morning. After lunch we will navigate along the river to reach the sleep platform where we will overnight in tents. Dinner and rest.
DAY 3:
Walking through the jungle to go in the direction of a beautiful waterfall where we can take a bath. Lunch. In the afternoon we will visit a native community. Then we will return to our sleep platform. Dinner an rest.
DAY 4:
Return to Pilcopata. Departure to Cusco at 10 a.m. Arrive to Cusco approximately at 6 p.m. End of our services.

CITY TOUR IN CUZCO

SACRED VALLEY
An excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Urubamba River (also called Vilcanota) is a must. Here the whealthiest Inca families had their country estates, a first experiment with private property in the Inca Empire. Although the circuit, wich had excellent highways to most sites, can easily be made in one day, this does not leave much time for ligering, for seeing some of the archaeological sites which are away from the roads, or simply for taking in the view. The town of Urubamba offers several hotels and restaurants which allow the more inquisitive visitor to reside in the area without daily trips back to Cusco.
