THE TAMPOPATA-CANDAMO WILDLIFE RESERVE
The Tambopata-Candamo Wildlife Reserve is located beetwen the rivers Madre de Dios, Tambopata and Heath. The area was declared a reserve in January 1990 by the Peruvian Goverment. The Tambopata reserve makes up part of the area and has been under protection since 1977. Some superb ox-bow lakes can be visited and the birdwatching is wonderful.
